A study was recently published and promoted stating that kids who are diagnosed with ADHD at a young age are four times more likely to develop depression later in life. While one doctor noted that it is not typical for diagnoses to occur at such a young age, nowhere did it seem to mention that the drugs these poor kids are being placed on actually cause depression.
The study also stated there was an increased risk of substance abuse later in life. No kidding! These drugs (prescription stimulants such as Ritalin and Adderall, etc.) CAUSE addiction! Drug rehabilitation programs are full of people addicted to these drugs. Basically, whoever paid for the study (drug makers, I'm sure, in association with our tax dollars) slanted the outcome to scare people into going ahead and risking their child's life by encouraging medication early in life and then adding more drugs (antidepressants) into the mix later in life to avoid suicidal symptoms. However, the kicker to me is that antidepressants are finally being recognized and as having little value compared to placebo and actually INCREASE suicidal ideation in children and young adults! How stupid do they think we are? People aren't stupide they just don't learn to research enough for themselves and instead try and trust others (like doctors, drug makers and the government) as knowing what they're talking about. Would you let any of them raise your children?
